George Garrett: 2006 Thomas Wolfe Prize Recipient

Novelist, Poet, Essayist, Critic, Short Story Writer, Teacher 

Mr. Garrett, winner of the 2006 Thomas Wolfe Prize, was unable to travel to Chapel Hill to deliver the annual Thomas Wolfe Lecture for health reasons.  Therefore, a delegation from the English Department and the Thomas Wolfe Society traveled to Charlottesville, Virginia to present the award to Mr. Garrett at a luncheon in his honor.  Please click the links below for more information about Mr. Garrett’s impressive literary career and an account of the 2006 Thomas Wolfe Luncheon.
